PTO shows its Teacher Appreciation

Although the actual event is still a month away, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week this year PTO wanted to provide Fall River’s dedicated teachers and staff with a more lasting token of our gratitude.  FRES parent (and hard-working PTO secretary) Gina Tajchman took on the monumental task of  making over of the teachers’ lounge into a more functional and restorative space.  The staff is excited about their new “mountain retreat.”

Fall River Carnival 2013

We’re eagerly getting ready for this year’s annual Fall River Carnival on Friday, May 17th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

Our Carnival has been a beloved annual event for more than 10 years now. It features age-appropriate games and activities — everything from a basketball toss for skilled players to a lollipop tree where our youngest visitors win at least a lollipop every time. With prizes, an ice cream truck, spray-on tattoos, and other fun attractions inside and outside Fall River, everyone always has a great time.

But we cannot do it without your help!

We’re asking volunteers from each grade to staff three or four activities for one hour at a time. Volunteers take tickets, run the game (don’t worry, they’re easy) and hand out prizes to winners.

Give us one hour of your time and we can make this year’s Carnival a wonderful experience for every family!

You’ll see which activities we’ve assigned to each grade level, but please feel free to signup for any activity!

Alpha Martial Arts

We normally offer free childcare during our monthly PTO meetings. This month, instead, we’ll have a special guest presenter for children during our meeting.

On Monday, March 11th at 7:00 pm, adults can meet in the Fall River library for our monthly PTO meeting. Children can meet in the gym for a class from Alpha Martial Arts on child self-defense.

Pre-registration is required due to limited space available. For each child who will attend, we ask for a $2 donation, which we’ll give to Child Find of America, dedicated to educating parents to prevent child abduction.

2012 Fox Trot

It’s time to kick off our annual fundraiser!

On September 28th, the students of Fall River Elementary will run laps around Stephen Day Park (next to our school) competing with their own personal goals. They ask for your sponsorship in the race.

This is our only cash fundraiser of the year (so the only time we’ll ask for your money to support Fall River for the next 12 months). Let’s show how much we believe in our students by beating our fundraising goal of $30,000!

Pledge Now!

You can learn more about Fox Trot, signup to volunteer for the event, and of course, pledge to sponsor your favorite Fall River Fox in this great event.
