Summer Reading Program

It may be hard to convince students to practice their multiplication tables all summer, but we can sure have fun with reading! The Fall River library is open one evening a week during the summer for an amazing Summer Reading Program.

Summer 2012 featured a camping theme all summer, from prizes to decorations.

Students get a prize each week for reading each night, make a craft to take home (while visiting with friends, of course), and checkout two new books from the school library to read the next week. Teachers will invite students to hear stories in three different rooms, so the fifth graders aren’t hearing the same stories as the Kindergartners. And at the end of the night comes a raffle for some lucky winners!

Incoming kindergarteners and preschool students are absolutely welcome! Come every week, or come only a few times — Summer Reading is meant to be fun, not an extra commitment.

Fall River PTO provides funding for the prizes, crafts, and other giveaways at this great summer event that keeps kids coming back to our school.
